Access to Witjira/Dalhousie (current as at 5 July)

Whilst the following summary is taken from the Desert Parks Bulletin at 5 July the Department posts a detailed bulletin when conditions change in any of their Arid Land Parks.

Access to the park from Oodnadatta and Marla is via Mt Dare only.

Pedirka Public Access Route – and Bloods Creek to Opossum Water Hole Track is closed until further notice as there is significant flood damage.

Witjira National Park – Open to 4WD – Extreme caution at ponded water, washouts and corrugations, plus rutted
sections from visitors driving on wet tracks. There is severe rutting and pot holing. High risk of roll over at deep
rutting and wash-a-ways for vehicles towing trailers and caravans.

West of Purnie Bore/Simpson Desert – Use extreme caution and drive to track conditions.
