Cantara Campout a success

Had an awesome get together earlier this month for members of both Friends of Simpson Desert and Friends of Great Victoria Desert at Cantara Homestead in the Coorong – heaps of open space to camp plus a fabulous fire pit (we brought our own wood with Peter and Margaret bringing some massive logs that burnt for 24 hours).

For those who have some energy to burn a clamber over the sand dunes to the ocean is well worth it.

A great way to connect with members who may not be able to get to working bee any more as well as meeting new members and sharing ideas and experiences of both of our groups as we work in different areas of South Australia.

The Homestead and surrounding grounds get a bit of TLC while we are there – some weeding and general maintenance in appreciation of being able to use the facilities.

A resounding YES to hold this campout again at Cantara in earlyish April next year.

Here are some of the photos from the weekend
